The Drawing Center Receives First Place Award from the International Association of Art Critics/USA
Unica Zürn: Dark Spring named Best Show by a Non-Profit Gallery or Space
December, 2009--The Drawing Center is pleased to announce that it has been awarded First Place honors in the category of "Best Show by a Non-Profit Gallery or Space" by the International Association of Art Critics/USA for the 2009 exhibition Unica Zürn: Dark Spring. On December 11, AICA/USA announced the winners of its 26th annual awards honoring exceptional and important work in the visual arts by artists, curators, gallerists, writers, scholars, and cultural institutions. Projects in a total of 13 categories were nominated and voted on by the association’s 400 members. The awards ceremony will take place at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on February 16, 2010. # # # The Drawing Center Appoints Four New Board Members May 2009 -- The Drawing Center is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors. Architect Steven Holl; Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection Director Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro; artist Pat Steir; and collector and scholar Isabel Stainow Wilcox join the leadership of the only museum in the country to focus on the exhibition of drawings. # # #

# # # Drawing Papers wins Best in Show
July 2008––We are proud to announce that the Drawing Papers (Season 2007–08) was selected as a winner in the Mohawk Show 9. Each year, Mohawk Paper receives nearly 1,500 entries to this selective design competition, but only five are chosen as winners by a panel of high-profile design professionals based on criteria including aesthetic value, content, and excellence of craft. The Drawing Papers will be featured in the Mohawk Show traveling exhibit and catalog as well as on the company’s website.
